What I found out about my estimation process?

Estimating up to 100m

I found that I am pretty good at estimating up to 100m and that I was very close to all of them.  I should estimate distances more often.

Estimating up to 5m and 10m.

I found that when I was estimating this I was not that good and I missed 5m by 1m and 10m by 2m. We did the 5m metres and then the 10m, I didn’t do as well on the short distance but I did do well on the long distance.

We were told to use the distance of a football field to measure 100m and that it would make it easier to estimate. I have to imagine how many football fields between me and my object that I am estimating too.

  1. A really helpful hint Ashur. 100m measured to every left foot you take. What does this tell you about estimating distances, are you short or long in your estimations?
