Te Wiki Tuatoru subtraction L2 my first math questions after the week end
Gold Subtraction
Choose the problem/ problems you want to solve. Show how you solved the problem.
- Te Rangi helped mum pick 126 Rauti leaves to make dance costumes. They only used 119 leaves. How many leaves were left over?
- Juniors family set up 120 chairs for his sister's wedding ceremony. Not all his family turned up. There were 17 spare chairs. How many family members turned up?
1. There Are 7 Rauti leaves left. I worked this out by subtracting the hundred first. Then 9 from 26 which is 17 then I took 10 of 17 and got 7. so there it is, the answer is 7.
2. There were 103 family members there. All I did was take away 17 of 20 and put back the hundred and boom 103.
